Agreement With Havila Shipping

Havila Shipping ASA and Metizoft AS have entered into an agreement on IHM inspections and maintenance. Havila has a fleet of 23 offshore vessels.

Havila Shipping ASA has chosen the local player Metizoft AS to carry out IHM inspections and updating of IHM for its vessels. In these corona times, it is very gratifying for Metizoft to be able to enter into such a contract with its "neighbor" at Mjølstadneset.

"From 31. dec. 2020, all vessels calling at EU ports must have an updated and maintained IHM in place. We have assessed the market and found that Metizoft has the best solution. They are also the supplier that has been doing this for the longest time.

By using them for maintenance of IHM, the crew on board our vessels can focus on boat operation, knowing that the regulations are taken care of at all times. We also see the value of Metizoft being located "just across the street". Then the road is short for both if there should be something to discuss", says Sveinung Gjelseth, technical inspector at Havila Shipping.

Metizoft is already inspecting Havila vessels, so the contract helps to keep the activity at a certain level. Metizoft has in recent years built up a team of 10 IHM inspectors stationed at Mjølstadneset.

Certified HazMat Expert and IHM inspector Fredrik Muren (pictured) was recently on board one of Havila's vessels and carried out a full inspection. Inspections of the rest of Havila's fleet of 23 vessels are now pending.

"Reaching agreements with local shipowners in these corona times is very welcome. It is important to work together wherever possible. Norway is our core market and we are continuously working to offer our assistance to Norwegian shipowners", says Øyvind Sundgot, Marketing Manager at Metizoft AS.
