Shipowners want clearer ESG standards

During TradeWinds' Norway-focused Shipowners Forum webinar, shipowners said they want more clarity in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards. There’s ongoing consolidation and alignment in the sector, with for instance SASB and IIRC recently announcing a merger to simplify the reporting requirements. Yet there’s still more work to be done.

The interest for green finance is steadily increasing, and according to TradeWinds, Odfjell in January became the first shipping company to sell a sustainability-linked bond.
